It all started with a book...

I love books and I have passed my love of books on to my girls.  So every time the school has a book fair the girls are all excited to buy new books.  Well this year I left it up to them to buy their own books.  Sweet girl decided she would buy herself a new book and one for BBQ.  BBQ told her she wanted the Silveralicious book.

Well when I picked up the girls from school, I was surprised by the tears they had on their faces as they got into the car.  Sweet Girl was crying because she had left her lunch box with her new book in it on the playground.  When she realized she had left it and when back to get it, it was gone.  BBQ was in tears and filled with anger because her sister had bought the wrong book.  She then went on to explain that Sweet girl bought her Pinkalicious because they had sold out of Silveralicious.  BBQ already has the Pinkalicious book so that seem to have made it worse.

I was very upset to hear that BBQ had not even thanked her sister who had bought her a book out of her own money.  And then complaining about how she had bought the wrong book.  So I told BBQ how disappointed I was in her and told her she would pay her sister back for the book.

After we got home, BBQ was still pouting and mad.  She was upset not only with Sweet Girl but with me as well.  She only had $4 and she had to give her sister $3 and in her mind it was going to take forever to save up her allowance to buy the Silveralicious book she wanted.  At this point I knew the punishment had fit the crime but I was so upset with the selfishness that had taken over.  So I sat down to talk to BBQ about why she was punished and how she needed to learn to be thankful.  So her sweet little face looked up at me with tears rolling down her face and said, " I do not know what happened Mom, I put on the Armor of God before I went to school today".  Yes, I melted and that led to a whole other talk about making mistakes and learning from them.

Ephesians 6:10-20 (New International Version, ©2011)

The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Yummy Apple!

I have always believed there was a good reason children have a Mom and a Dad.  Because I would have never given Baby Girl an apple to chew/suck on.  But Daddy had a great idea and she loved it!

She is growing so fast and learning so much everyday.

Soon these little feet will not be so little.  I just want to cherish each  moment as they come.

You can do anything you set your mind to do

We all have to do it, we all struggle to learn it, it is never easy and it often brings us to tears.

But when we finally figure it out. When it all comes together and you know you have accomplished something. There is nothing like.  You did it, you persevere and you made it happen.  That is what is was like for BBQ, lots of work but she finally did it.  She can now tie her shoes!!  She is in the Star Club at school. She is so proud of herself and so are we.

Dressed up for a special date...

My girls love to dress up!  They were so thrilled to dress up and go on a date with Daddy to the Father/Daughter banquet at church.

They both looked so beautiful.  I believe they even had a little lip gloss on.

Daddy bought a new shirt and tie for the event.  He sure looked handsome!!

It warms my heart to see how close the girls are to their Daddy.  He is truly showing them the way they should be treated.  Date night with the Dad is setting the standard for the future men in their life.  Good luck filling those shoes.

The night was filled with dinner, dancing and a speaker.

One day Baby Girl will be going to her dance with Daddy but for now she will have to wait.

New Chair and a lost tooth, all in a day!

Baby Girl got a highchair!  Our sweet friend, Ms. Kim brought it over for us to have.  We love it!  It makes feedings so much easier and also is great for playtime while Mommy is cooking.

BBQ came home with a loose tooth after biting into an apple at school.  She finally let Daddy get a hold of it and pull it out later in the night.  It was so small it took Daddy a few minutes to find it after it fell on the floor.

BBQ received a special kit (Sweet Girl got one a couple of years ago).  The kit has a book about the Tooth Fairy, a special battery tea light and a teal pocket purse to put her tooth in.  As you can see, she was so excited.
There is nothing like loosing your first tooth!

A Friday Night Surprise!

SURPRISE, Daddy tricked the big girls.  They thought they were going to run errands with Dad while Mom and Baby Girl were at a church meeting.  Nope, they ended up at the CIRCUS!

The loved everything!  And talked non-stop about it for a couple of days.

The really loved the motorcycles!

Caught on Camera

One afternoon while rocking Baby Girl to sleep I caught the bigger girls sitting up in their fort together talking away.  I wanted so desperatly to capture the moment.  I grabbed the camera and stood up at the window to take the picture, trying to capture the moment without them seeing me.  No such luck, they caught me and began poising for the camera.

Sweet Girl has always poised for pictures, she was a dream to take pictures of but BBQ had to learn it over time.  For years she hated having her picture taken and made sure that everyone knew it.  We have several portraits to prove it.  Even so big sister taught little sister along the way and here is the proof.

First Trophy!

BBQ completes her first season of basketball.  She learned how to dribble and to make a basket!  BBQ could hold her own when she was the only girl on the court, she is a great defensive player!

The Buccaneers basketball team had their team celebration party at CiCi's Pizza with pizza and cake.

We had such a great coach, BBQ had him wrapped around her finger.

BBQ received her first trophy!! She was so excited.

A little project..

Since adding another girl to our family, I have not had too much time for projects.  I was excited to save this precious outfit that had yellowed in storage.  The girls Oma had bought it for Sweet Pea and it was her first Easter outfit.  Thankfully, Oma came up with the idea of dying the outfit to cover up the yellowing problem.  So what better color for a little girl outfit but PINK.  I tell you one day I am going to be so tired of that color but I sure do love it on little girls.  So I took on the small project of dying the outfit pink in my kitchen sink.  Thankfully it did not take long, since Baby girl takes power naps lasting 45 minutes.  Anyways, I think the outfit turned out great.  Baby girl was a hit at church wearing it on Sunday - so sorry I did not get any pictures of her wearing it.  Maybe next time.

Here is Sweet Pea and Daddy on her 1st Easter.  Check out that hat!

All cotton makes this outfit so comfortable

So glad I picked up some gloves so spare my hands

Love it - so sweet.
